As I always say, I am always on an adventure to find the best for my pets - which include 11 cats, 1 dog, 1 rabbit, and 1 turtle. Yes, we have a zoo, but they are all spoiled rotten and we want to ensure they get the best. That being said, we got the cats a little something special to try this month - a new flavor to try of some wet cat food as part of their treats. We have tried the Nutro brand before, but not the Nutro Wild Frontier Real Chicken & Beef, Real Salmon & Trout Recipe Pate Multipack Adult High-Protein Grain-Free Cat Food Trays. So these were a new treat for the gang.

Okay, this is only a guess because I did not, I repeat, I did not try these. However, most of my cats did and they enjoy it! Since I have 11 cats, I opened one of each flavor so they could all give it a nibble. I didn't want to open too many at once because I didn't know how many would enjoy this particular brand and flavor. Well, they all crowded around the dish and seemed to go to town. I stepped away for maybe 5 minutes give or take and when I came back the plate had been licked clean. So I guess it's pretty safe to say they liked it; especially if they gobbled it down that fast! The only downside to these is the fact that having 11 cats and each little portion is for one cat, these will go pretty quickly. Of course, I'm used to that by now.

 

One thing I enjoyed was the convenience of these. They are small, single portions (well 2 portions in 2 separate trays) with an easy to open pull-back foil-type covering. You just pull it back and dump the wet food into a dish. Personally, I like to mash it up a bit rather than leaving it as the shape of the can as the cats seem to enjoy it better that way. The smaller sized trays make it more convenient to store until you are ready to use them as well as to ensure less waste. Because they are smaller, they are perfect for 1-2 cats (per portion) to share depending on their eating habits.

 

So since it's a treat, I don't expect it to be 100% healthy. To me, the wet food cans are the equivalent to junk food for humans. So while I expect the high-quality ingredients in my pets everyday food that they eat, when it comes to their treats I'm not picky about ingredients. With that said, however, I was very pleased to find out that these are grain-free! Take a look at the ingredients list:

Needless to say, this was a pleasant experience for the kitties. They thoroughly enjoyed their new treats and was eager to eat more every time they saw me touch the cans (they're little piglets!). These are definitely now on our "treats we must have" list and definitely recommend giving them a try!
