For anybody that knows me, we have a zoo at my house. We have 11 cats and a dog (who thinks she's a cat!). So any time there's an offer for pet samples of any sort - we're all up for it! How did we end up with so many animals? Well, volunteering with a local rescue, Spaymart, didn't help. Of course, we wouldn't change that for the world. So what all did we get to try? Well, Wellness was kind enough to send a variety of treats and food samples for the kitties and a little something for Scooby. I have to say, they hit the nail on the head for my household!

For the cats, here's the breakdown of what they got to sample:

Wellness CORE Natural Grain Free Dry Cat Food

This food is grain-free, complete, and balanced everyday nutrition for your cat. It is rich in delicious premium proteins including turkey, chicken, whitefish & herring combined with real vegetables and essential vitamins and minerals. I love that it is made with all-natural ingredients with no wheat, corn, soy, meat by-products, or artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. As an added bonus, it is proudly made only in the USA. As far as the cats reaction to it? Just plain and dry - they weren't too thrilled. My two youngest kittens were more than happy to gobble it down, however, the others are stuck on their brand they've been on for a while. They only showed interest when I added the TruFood topping to it. This brings me to the next item on the list...

Wellness TruFood Complements

Wellness Grain Free Trufood Complements provide a pure protein meal complement, with a minimal amount of ingredients, no fillers or glutens. Add Trufood Complements to any meal as delicious topper, mixer, or snack. My cats all loved this one! They were happy to eat the different varieties either alone or on top the food. Of course, once the Trufood was gone, they didn't care about the dry food. I guess who can blame them?!

Wellness CORE Hearty Cuts Natural Canned Grain Free Wet Cat Food

This is grain-free, complete, and balanced everyday nutrition for your cat. It's made with real hearty cuts of premium proteins including chicken & turkey in a rich, delicious gravy. I love that it's made with all natural ingredients with no wheat, corn, soy, meat by-products, or artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Hearty Cuts is a complete diet that can also be used as a meal, or a mixer for other CORE dry cat food diets. This one was another huge hit with the kitties. They're not hard to please when it comes to the treats and wet food and this one certainly went well with most of the cats. I mean, for the cats to gobble it down quickly - that's got to be a good sign - right?!

Wellness Kittles Crunchy Natural Grain Free Cat Treats

While these are a treat, they are 100% grain free and all natural. They are made with premium fruits, veggies and real meat as the #1 ingredient. Plus they contain only premium, all natural ingredients with no meat by-products, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. This particular one was a 50/50 shot, depending on the cat. For the non-picky ones, they enjoyed this. For my pickier eaters, this one wasn't something that got their whiskers curling. Either way, they certainly aren't going to waste for the ones who are enjoying it!

Now of course, the cats weren't the only ones who got a little something to enjoy. Scooby got some treats too and boy was she excited to try them all out! She seemed to enjoy hers much more than the cats! I used a bento box and mixed them all together in their own little slots for her and she was beyond excited. Tails wagging and dug in until the whole plate was cleaned!

This is grain free, complete and balanced everyday nutrition for your dog. This is naturally grain free, rich with delicious hearty cuts of premium proteins including turkey & duck combined with real vegetables and essential vitamins and minerals. I love that is contains only premium, all natural ingredients with no wheat, corn, soy, meat by-products, or artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Hearty Cuts is a complete diet that can also be used as a complementary mixer or topper to other CORE dry dog food diets. This looks like a stew sort of meal for people rather than dog food, and that is Scooby's absolute favorite treat style. I mean she went nuts for these! We got one can of each flavor and boy did it drive her crazy. She acted like she hadn't eaten in years with those cans!

Wellness TruFood Grain Free Natural Dog Food Complement

TruFood® Complements can be used as a mixer, topper or snack to be added to a complete and balanced food diet. Each is a delicious recipe with simply 5 ingredients or less— 100% natural with no grains and no fillers. Scooby loved this as well. She enjoys eating it by itself or on top of her regular brand dry food. I just open a single pouch and pour it over the food and she goes to town.

Wellness CORE Marrow Roasts Natural Grain Free Dog Treats

These are said to be delicious, crunchy biscuits baked with real meaty marrow inside. They are made with premium, natural ingredients like real beef. I love that these contain only premium, all natural ingredients with no wheat, wheat-gluten, corn, soy, artificial colors or flavors. While these didn't drive Scooby as crazy as the wet food did, it didn't stop her from still guzzling them down and begging for more!

Wellness CORE Pure Rewards Natural Grain Free Dog Treats

Wellness CORE Pure Rewards Natural Grain Free Dog Treats are Soft Beef Jerky Bites. They are naturally grain free tender jerky for everyday treating or training. I love that these are made with premium protein from real beef, using the minimal amount of ingredients. They contain only premium, all natural ingredients with no wheat, artificial colors or flavors. Again, like the marrow treats, Scooby enjoyed them. Not as much as the wet treats, as a comparison, but she sure seemed like she couldn't get enough of them!

My animals all seemed to enjoy the variety of food and treats they received. Some enjoyed items more than others, but in the end, they are all left full and satisfied. As a pet parent, I love that this brand uses all-natural ingredient - keeping things as healthy as possible for my babies. As someone who has quite a large group, I couldn't help but also notice the higher price tag compared to other brands. Yes, it can be expensive, but if you can afford it, it's well worth it. Do some research and you will see the benefits of providing your pet with all-natural and grain-free products. In fact, I use grain-free brands regularly for my babies, except for the treats. I'll let them slide and have the "junk" for treats since that's what they seem to enjoy most. Well, at least until now.

Scooby and the cats seemed to thoroughly enjoy all their food and treats and were able to discover some new flavors and brands they hadn't tried before. Wellness is another brand for us to add to our "favorites" list. As in, it will be added in as part of their regular diet, at least as far as the wet food and treats go! Needless to say, I love this brand. Not only because of how healthy the food is and how much my pets enjoy it, but because of the way they took care of my home state, Louisiana, after the horrible flood, we had a couple of months ago. So thank you Wellness, not just for the samples, but for caring about the animals in my area!
