Is there anything more classic than a Peanut Butter and Jelly (PB & J) sandwich for lunch? This combination just screams childhood, and bouts of nostalgia. The way the creamy (or crunchy, your call) peanut butter mixes with the sweet taste of the jelly is a flavor fusion worthy of the movies.
The combination, as traditional as it is, is versatile. While the sandwich you loved as a young one may have more sugar than need be, you can still get the taste of it in more grown up, healthy ways.
Today we've put a spin to the ole' favorite, with whole wheat bread and fruit. Yep, you read that right, good-for-you bread and some freshly sliced strawberries. A.K.A goodbye faux sugar, hello natural goodness. After all, the sensation is the same -- tart and creamy!
Want to know how to make this healthy snack time treat? Here's the 411:
You'll want to grab a large, dinner plate...Next, simply lay out your two slices of bread.
Thinly cut up about 6 strawberries, then place on top of one slice of bread. Spread 2 Tablespoons of PB on to the other slice.
Next stop: Bite in and enjoy.
