The flavors of Thanksgiving are not easy to replicate, nor are the emotional attachments we have to our favorite Thanksgiving foods. Nothing can substitute for the dream team of moist, salty, smoky turkey with crispy skin, and rich, savory gravy. And nothing can take the place of stuffing. Nothing. Any imitation of Thanksgiving food would surely be blasphemy, so we wait patiently all year long until that one special day in November (and as many days of leftovers as we can stretch) until we can gorge ourselves on all our favorites. If you’re incapable of waiting, however, we’ve got good news for you: there’s a company making Thanksgiving-flavored potato chips that actually taste exactly like Thanksgiving.
The chips come from
Boulder Canyon Foods, and the flavor profiles are uncanny. From Turkey and Gravy to Cranberry, Boulder Canyon’s kettle-cooked potato chips taste like the real deal. The Stuffing flavor tastes likes stuffing, the Pumpkin Pie flavor tastes like pumpkin pie...
I received two of the Thanksgiving flavors to try:
Turkey and Gravy
Molasses, onion powder and a mysterious but brilliant mix of spices makes these chips taste just about as close to turkey and gravy as we imagine any chips could. They’re amazing. We’d eat them all day.
Pumpkin Pie
Thank you, Boulder Canyon Foods, for not making Pumpkin *Spice* chips. These Pumpkin *Pie* chips are made with cinnamon, nutmeg, molasses, and pumpkin — not pumpkin pie spice — and they’re great!
I first tried the Boulder Canyon brand back around Thanksgiving in 2014 and fell in love with their limited edition flavors. I was again given another opportunity to try some new flavors from Boulder Canyon and once again I was not let down. I found the chips were perfectly cooked and the flavors were perfection! They were not overwhelming, let it was not too little either. There was plenty of flavor without over doing it. I love that these are not traditional chip flavors either. I love having the unique flavors. I`m the type when brands put out an "odd" flavor, I immediately try and 9 times out of 10, I love them. I love quirky foods like that. These tasted exactly like the flavors they represent. Even my 2-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed both chip flavors! Needless to say, these are amazing and I highly recommend them; especially for your Thanksgiving table!
Needless to say, my opinion of Boulder Canyon only gets better and better with each new flavor I try and I highly recommend checking them. You can grab these chips at select grocers nationwide in 5-ounce bags with a suggested retail price of $2.99 per bag. See if they are sold in a
