If you`re unaware of the situation, please read the story here: https://www.closetsamples.com/2012/02/note-a-cry-for-help-for-my-sister-suffering-with-many-medical-problems/? Not much has changed, but I did want to give a brief update. My sister recently went to a specialist in Baton Rouge this past weekend. They`re looking over the data and information and hopefully we get some more answers. One thing that we did find out though is that the seizures, ADHD, etc are all caused due to her missing chromosome (chromosome 17). There is also someone who comes in for 10 hours per week (varies on days and times) to just spend time with her. She`s not qualified in anything special. Just a very nice lady who comes in and plays games and such. It makes Amy feel like she has a special friend or something, which is something she always longs for. So it gives her something to look forward to. As I said, none of Amys behavior is documented and there is no medical reasoning behind this, just a friendly face. So why bother having a "friendly face" come in? Well as of right now, all we`re told is give Amy the best quality of life as possible. What she has is very rare, which is why I continue to post and ask you all to share and pass it along. SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE has the answer.
- Someone who has knowledge of missing chromosomes (I guess?)
- Donations to help cover the medical bills
My parents won`t straight out ask for themselves, so I`m doing it for them. I also want to look into making some jewelry specifically promoting the missing chromosome and give any proceeds to them to help pay for the bills. Once I get that figured out and going I will be share to post it up.
