I love trying out new food of all sorts! My last local review was of the NOLA Tropical Winery. About a week or so ago I had my first trip to Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. This is a non-sponsored post and all expenses came out of my own pocket for this experience. All photos used for this review belong to Little Tokyo as I did not find it appropriate to take out my camera at that time.

Little Tokyo is located at 310 N Carrollton Ave in New Orleans, LA. It is a Japanese Restaurant which features Sushi and Hibachi. Little Tokyo Restaurant has been in business for the last 25 years and features a experienced chefs who hail from Japan. The Yusuke family owned a restaurant in Japan and came here 31 years ago to start a restaurant in the New Orleans area. With beautiful, contemporary decor, their restaurant sets the perfect mood for a romantic night out.

From the outside, the place didn`t look like much. Parts of the area around Carrollton Ave still have yet to be rebuilt since Hurricane Katrina hit. Once we walked through the doors though, it was absolutely beautiful! At that time, they were doing some remodeling updates on the inside, but non the less, the walls, decor, everything was very nice! I was impressed to say the least and would not have expected that from the outside from this particular location (they have a few other local locations available).

The staff was very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival for their lunch menu. We were there when their doors opened for 11:30am so we were the only people having lunch at that time. I went ahead with the Salmon Hibachi meal with the Jasmine Tea. This consisted of a soup, salad, rice in hibachi style, salmon in hibachi style as well as vegetables in hibachi style. Each piece tasted AMAZING. I especially loved the salad dressing used for the salad at this particular location I must say! The Salmon also tasted excellent as well! Actually, the whole meal itself was great if I`m going to be completely honest. Of course, I couldn`t eat every single thing so I ended up with a to-go-box to finish the rest later (which I did!).

The timeliness of the staff getting the food prepared was decent. I would have loved to have had more of a "show" during the hibachi cooking, but I could see they were having a few technical difficulties with some new equipment so I definitely won`t hold that against them this time. We can`t help those sorts of things. The quality of the food and staff made up for it though.

Now there is no kids menu from what I saw (I may be wrong), but kids are welcome to dine with you! I would recommend out of politeness though to bring kids just during lunch hours at this location as it did seem a bit more up scale unless of course they`re not loud. If you`re into sushi and hibachi, then definitely give Little Tokyo a try! I`m sure you`ll love it just as much as I did!
