Every school year begins with a sense of excitement initially, then a whole lot of worrying. With so many changes occurring to your environment, it is completely okay to have a *healthy* amount of this emotion happen.
Yet, making sure that there are outlets for you to feel at ease and most importantly, at home, while at college is a top priority. So how can you do that? Today you'll find out three different ways to...they're all natural and easy to make!
DIY Hand Sanitizer
The first way to keep yourself level-headed is to not get sick! So, take steps to make sure you remain germ-free. After all, being on a college campus isn't always the cleanest, are we right or are we right? This quick DIY hand sanitizer will save you some serious dough from the store-bought version and will keep you clean due to the rubbing alcohol.
What You'll Need:
+1/2 Cup Aloe Vera 98% Soothing Moisturizing Gel
+ 1 tbsp Rubbing Alcohol
+ 15 Drops Niaoili 100% Pure Essential Oil
+ 5 Drops Lemon 100% Pure Essential Oil
How To Make:
Mix all the ingredients together and place in a squeeze bottle. Use throughout the day!
Stay Focused Diffuser Blend
Long night ahead of you studying for that big exam, or working on a major group project? The last thing you need is bouts of restlessness. This blend brings a burst of brightening aromas to your dorm to lift your spirit and keep your eyes on the prize.
To Make The Blend:
Mix together the following oils:
+ 2 Drops Grapefruit 100% Pure Essential Oil
+ 3 Drops Lime 100% Pure Essential Oil
+ 2 Drops Clary Sage 100% Pure Essential Oil
Homemade To-Go Snack
When hunger strikes mid-lecture, what are you supposed to do? Sit silently and let your stomach growl awkwardly? Oh, no. Make sure to keep yourself a healthy on-the-go snack to reach for while in class. This way hunger doesn't keep you from learning or listening, affecting your ability to recall important notes later on!
What You'll Need:
+ 2 Cups Rolled Oats
+ 1 Cup Sliced Almonds
+ 3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
+ 3 Tbsp Manuka Honey
+ 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
+ 1 Tsp Cinnamon Powder Organic
How To Make:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together the oats and almonds in a bowl.
Separately, mix together the coconut oil, honey, vanilla extract and cinnamon
Bake in the oven on parchment paper for 30 minutes, checking in every 10 to mix granola around a bit
Once brown, remove. Let cool.
Store in snack bags and eat when you need a treat!
